CADDO COMMISSION SHOULD DELAY ELECTION ON CHARTER AMENDMENTS

The Caddo Commission should NOT vote tomorrow to call a specail election in April to consider three charter amendments.

The costs to the parish--if these are the only ballot issues--would be approximately $200,000.

The amendments are not that critical to the effective operations of the Commission.

The Commission should save the costs of the special election.

Commissioner Lyndon Johnson is to be commended for his opposition to calling a special election at this time.

Johnson is expected to be elected as the 2021 Commission president at Thursday's meeting.
