EARLY VOTING AND ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR DEC. 10 ELECTION

Here is the scoop from Dale Sibley, Caddo Registrar of Voters, Early voting will be at the Registrar's office downtown and at the library on 2111 West Bert Kouns.

Early voting hours are 8:30 a.m. through 6 p.m.

Dates are Sat. Nov 26, and Mon. Nov. 28 through Sat. Dec. 3.

No early voting on Sun. Nov. 27.

Absentee ballots will be mailed out by the Registrar of Voters Office.

Sibley explained that the ballots are received from the state of Louisiana, and upon receipt by his office they begin sending them out immediately.

Sibley does not know when the ballots will arrive. State law does not define a date and only says the Registrar must send them out as soon as received.

Sibley noted that the short window between the primary and the general election is a challenge as well as prompt receipt by voters from the post office.
