WHAT CAN ALAN JACKSON EXPECT DURING RUN-OFF FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT E?

Interim council member Alan Jackson finished second to Tony Nations in the Tues. primary election.

The vote was Nations 42%, Jackson 35%, and Alvin Oliver 23%.

Here are some realities Jackson should face in his effort to be successful at the polls on Dec. 10:

1. Lewd pictures of his wife that she posted on her FaceBook page, in scanty outfits and provocative poses, will most likely be circulated. One of these clearly show her breasts through a black knit outfit.

2. More questions about his ownership of the Hookah Lounge and his failure to comply with the ABC laws in obtaining a new liquor license after acquiring a third ownership.

3. Active opposition by his former opponent Alvin Oliver who campaigned aggressively.

4. A well-funded campaign coffer for frontrunner Nations who Jackson outspent in the primary.

5. A large turnout of Republican voters to support Nations.

6. Another poor turnout of African American voters.

7. His support of Mayor Perkins in the primary and with his council votes to be negative factor.

Yes, Jackson has a chance to upset Nations in the primary. But it’s much harder done than said, especially with these factors in this election.
