John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

LOUIS JOHNSON NAMED BOSSIER PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER

Bossier mayor Tommy Chandler hired Louis Johnson as Bossier's public information officer (PIO) Monday.

Johnson was an immediate help to Chandler working with the media in response to the horrible shootings yesterday at the Valero station.

Johnson scored high points with his KEEL interview this am.

A former Shreveport Fire Department Chief Training officer, Johnson served 33 years as a Shreveport firefighter. He was the PIO for the fire department for 16 years.

Johnson was one of the six finalists for the selection of SPD fire chief by former Shreveport mayor Ollie Tyler.

Johnson has been an instructor for the Shreveport Leadership Academy, SUSLA and BPCC.

He has previously served as a Caddo Commissioner.
