MANY HEROES IN SOUTH SHREVEPORT ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT

Hopefully all readers are aware of the barricaded active shooter who on Mon. of this week injured two people with gunfire and then died at the scene, either from the fire he started and/or a self-inflicted wound.

A summary of the events is in the article below.

There were many heroes on Mon. At the risk of leaving some out, here is a list:

1. All law enforcement agencies that responded and assisted in the standoff.

2. Shreveport Fire Department and especially those that were targets of the active shooter.

3. Shreveport Police officers at the scene, and especially those that were targets of the active shooter.

4. Caddo Parish Sheriff Office for bringing the BAT mobile to the scene.

5. Bossier Police Department for loaning the much needed and very helpful use of a BEARKAT and a ROOK (Armored Critical Incident Vehicle).

6. The three SPD SWAT teams members rescued the wounded 13-year-old from the residence while encountering gunfire.

All persons and agencies who assisted in this tragic situation are to be commended.
