John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

DETAILS ON GLOVER'S CONTRACT AS DDA DIRECTOR

On Monday, Oct. 14, Cedric Glover will begin his duties as the new Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA).

Here are key details of Glover's contract:

1.  The contract is for a three-year term.

2. The salary is $115, 000 per year.

3. Beginning January 1, 2025, Glover will get four weeks of Paid Time Off.

4. DDA will reimburse Glover for travel and expenses incurred in performance of his DDA duties.

5. Glover will be paid a monthly car allowance of $300, and he must maintain auto public liability insurance with DDA an additional insured.

6. Glover will be entitled to medical, and retirement benefits available to other DDA employees.

7. DDA will maintain a membership with a private downtown Shreveport club for use by Glover for DDA related purposes.

8. DDA will pay Glover's monthly parking expenses.

The contract requires that Glover devote his entire working time and attention to the business of DDA. Additionally, Glover is prohibited directly and indirectly as an officer, director, stockholder, employee or independent contractor of any other corporation, entity or person, be engaged in or concerned with any other duties or pursuits whatsoever during his employment term without the authorized written agreement with DDA.
