CADDO COMMISSIONER CANDIDATE FRANCINE BROWN EVICTED FROM AIRBNB

Francine "Monro" Brown is a candidate for the Caddo Commissioner District 6 seat in the upcoming March 23 election. Handy Giles is currently filling this position as an interim commissioner.

Brown is opposed by Steffon Jones, who previously served as the District 6 commissioner.

Brown had a fire in her home last year which necessitated interim housing for her while the home was repaired. She rented an Airbnb from Mahoney Elite Realty.

The discounted rent for the Airbnb was $129 per day. Brown occupied this unit for over four months, and she failed to pay rent totaling over $18,000.

Mahoney Elite Realty filed an eviction suit in Shreveport City Court and a judgement of eviction was rendered this week.

Mahoney may file litigation to collect the unpaid rent. Assuming a judgement is rendered in favor of Mahoney, Brown's pay as a commissioner could be garnished IF she wins the election.
