I attended the public ceremony for Curtis “50 Cent" Jackson on the steps of Government Plaza.
I attended the press conference held after the event in Government Plaza and received a business card from his attorney who was in attendance.
I have advised his attorney I will run copy anytime for Mr. Jackson in my paper FOCUS SB.
I have met Orville Hall, the G-Unit Growth Advisor, and offered several times to run any copy for Mr. Jackson in my paper.
I had Mr. Jackson as the cover personality on the April 26 issue of FOCUS SB.
In the current June 7 issue of FOCUS SB, I have an article on the planned interior of this G-Unit Films and Television Studio.
I have published two articles on my blog commending Mr. Jackson and his plans for Shreveport.
ALL OF MY BLOGS AND ARTICLES IN FOCUS SB HAVE BEEN POSITIVE, AS IN VERY POSITIVE.
The "Curtis cynics" need to accept some facts:
1. The City has not given nor promised any funding to Mr. Jackson.
2. The City has not given any real estate to Mr. Jackson.
3. The City has executed a lease of Millennium Studios to Mr. Jackson on terms very favorable to the City.
4. Mr. Jackson has received permission to place a temporary dome structure in downtown for a festival and he has leased the city block for the event. The City is not underwriting any costs for the dome and the planned events.
5. Mr. Jackson has purchased, at market price, 2 empty downtown buildings in the 200 block of Texas Street--the Drake Building on the north side and a former bar site on the south side.
These buildings are subject to Shreveport Property Standards requirements for downtown buildings.
Before any building occupancy, Mr. Jackson must obtain city occupancy permits which require compliance with all city and state building codes.
Mr. Jackson must obtain proper permits for any remodeling/renovations of the buildings.
Mr. Jackson will owe both city and parish ad valorem taxes for 2024 which are due at before year end.
Soooo...all you computer and closet rumor cowards, what's your real beef? Please tell me it’s not racial.
Last time I looked, the color of money was GREEN, not black or white or tan. Mr. Jackson's business success is reflective of this reality as well.
