SHREVEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT TO OPEN DOWNTOWN SHREVEPORT OFFICE

The emblems are on the windows and the doors at the office on the northwest corner of Travis Street and Marshall--the AEP/SWEPCO building.

This location in the 400 block is basically across the street from Government Plaza.

Details on what operations and staffing of this office are yet to be released. There has been some questions by downtown building owners about staffing and the location. This block of Travis Street is in a very low crime area as compared to the 200 block of Texas Street.

It is anticipated that SPD Chief Smith will provide information on this office at the Shreveport City Council meeting on Monday, June 24.
