WHY CAN'T RAILROAD CLOSING OF SHED ROAD BE DELAYED UNTIL CARRIAGEWAY OPENS?

OMG--please don't tell me that the Shed Road railroad crossing will be closed starting tomorrow, Wednesday at 7 a.m. until Friday, August 2 at 4 p.m. The closing is to allow for crossing rehab.

Goodness, traffic on Benton Road is almost as bad now as on Airline Drive. Completion of the carriageway, hopefully next month, will provide some relief for Benton Road.

But--forcing traffic to use Airline versus Benton Road is a recipe for a Los Angeles freeway traffic jam. Think about this additional traffic on Bossier's busiest road when is further exacerbated by the 1-20 construction.

A logical solution would be delaying the rehab until the carriageway is completed and open for traffic. I realize crossing rehab is critical to safety, along this rail crossing has very low speed train traffic. And my definition of "logical" may not be shared by the railroad powers to be.

If anyone has connections to the railroad God, please pray for relief--like now. If not, get ready to add 10-15 minutes commute time when using the primary traffic alternative of Airline Drive.
