CADDO COMMISSION FUNDS BIG BUCKS TO LOCAL NONPROFITS IN 2025

Each year, the Caddo Commission approves funding to local nonprofit organizations which are referred to as NGOs (Nongovernmental Organizations.)

Two lists of the approved 2024 funding in the amount of $1,343,272 are attached below. Many of these NGOs have also been approved for funding by the Shreveport City Council for 2025.

Big questions are always raised about the amounts to be funded and how many prior years the organization has received public dollars. The issue of duplicate funding by these two governmental bodies is rarely raised by either the Caddo Commission or the Shreveport City Council. Good government dictates that all sources of funding and all the expenditures of the NGOS should be examined before any public funding.
