John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

DING, DING, DING, DING, ROUND 4 :CADDO COMMISSIONER JOHN-PAUL VS MAYOR TOM

On Feb.26, Caddo Commissioner John-Paul Young filed a Declaratory Judgment action to determine the rights of Shreveport Police to arrest squatters in vacant houses. The named defendant is Mayor Tom Arceneaux for the City of Shreveport.

All the Caddo judges recused themselves from the case.

The Supreme Court has now appointed retired Judge James H. Boddie, Jr. of Ruston, as judge pro tem to hear the case. No date has yet been set for the hearing.
