JAZZ ON RED FESTIVAL PROMOTER ARRESTED AND  FESTIVAL BOUNCES CHECK TO VENDOR

The Jazz on the Red Festival was held this past Saturday at Festival Plaza. The festival was moved from Riverfront Park due to flooding.

One of the organizers was arrested during the festival for outstanding child molestation charges from Texas.

A check provided to a major festival vendor has bounced. A co-producer has promised payment within 30 days.

A public records request has been made for the contract with the City of Shreveport for utilization of the city property.

Requests have also been made to determine if any city or parish funds were provided to the festival.

Seemingly, there should be an in depth screening process for new festivals on city property, especially those with out of town promoters.

It is currently unknown if other local vendors were stiffed by the festival organizers.
